Our Story

2015

Origin

From Manufacturing to Circular Design

Our founders began learning about circular economy in both academic and practical contexts. They started practicing circular design, starting with by-product upcycling.

2019

Mission

Leafer: Exploring Natural Systems for Insight

We choose a name to reflect our aspiration to learn from natural systems and be like leaves. Through creativity, we transform existing models and convert resources into value.

2021

Deeper Roots

Formal Establishment for Better Servicing

We became the first company in Taiwan to use circular design in their name. We defined 12 circular design capabilities and began helping businesses find everything they need for circular transition — all in one place.

2023

Growth

Building Circular Thinking Talent

We believe every designer can thrive as a 'Leafer' in the circular economy. We partnered with Circular Taiwan Foundation to become bilingual facilitators, developed circular design education methods, and welcomed our first BeLeafer intern.

Establishing Taiwan as a Hub for Circular Design

Taiwan is an island with limited resources, political uncertainty, and diverse heritage — yet adversity fuels creativity. We'll continue to partner with organizations to develop circular solutions ready for the global stage.

I want a project quotation. What information do I need to provide?
A.

  • 在「需求與期待」的欄位中，請提供您專案的現況說明、專案動機、預期對象(TA)、預算以及相關參考連結，這將加速預算評估的過程。
  • 如為急件，Leafer可能會收取額外的費用，但對於循環經濟相關專案，我們將提供相應的折扣。
  • Please fill out the 'Project Inquiry Form' so our project managers can understand your needs.
  • In the 'Requirements and Expectations' section, share your current situation, project motivation, target audience, budget, and any relevant links to speed up the quotation process.
  • Urgent requests may incur an additional charge, but we offer discounts for projects related to the circular economy.
Q.
What is the project consultation process?
A.
  • 在簽約前，我們會進行2到3次會議，目的是釐清具體需求、時程和預算範圍；之後才會進入報價階段。
  • 確定報價內容後，我們會根據專案的具體情況決定是否簽約。
  • Before providing a quotation, we will hold 2-3 meetings to clarify your specific needs, timeline, and budget range.
  • Once quotation details are confirmed, we will decide whether a signed contract is neccesary to proceed with the specific project.

I want to pursue circular innovation. How can Leafer assist me?
A.

  • For business owners who are unsure, we offer a introductory 'Exploring Circular Business Opportunities' workshop to help you discover innovative possibilities with circular business models.
  • If you already have clear objectives, we will assist in identifying potential opportunities during the initial meetings. Regardless of the type of innovation, we recommend working with us on both insight research and design at the same time to accurately meet your business goals.
  • For business owners with in-house design teams, Leafer offers training programs on 'Circular Design Thinking' and can also loan 'Circular Design Consultants' to better support the internal team's contributions to business growth.

Do you take on small-scale design projects?

  • Of course! For any business, it's normal to encounter unexpected design needs during the circular business innovation process.
  • In the Project Inquiry Form, select 'Other' in the 'Expected Outcome Type' section. Whether you want a business card or presentation, feel free to reach out to us with your requirements.
  • Regardless of project size, we assess everything to find the most efficient solution and prevent unnecessary duplication of efforts. We look forward to sharing your future development needs and expectations.

Can I get a design draft before signing a contract?
A.
  • 所有的調查與設計活動都將根據報價單/合約的時程進行，我們不會在事前提供設計稿件。
  • 不過，我們提供「初步分析與提案服務」，如果提案內容順利進行，我們會將該服務費用抵免於後續簽約專案的費用。
  • All insight research and design activities will follow the timeline outlined in the quotation/contract; we do not provide design drafts in advance.
  • However, you can choose to use our 'Preliminary Analysis and Proposal Service' to get a feel for direction and quality. After, the proposal cost can be subtracted from the cost of the subsequent project.
Q.
Do I need to provide detailed info about the project in advance?
A.

  • As long as it helps us understand your ideal development and avoids communication gaps between us, any form of data or discussion is perfectly fine.
  • There's no need to rush into collecting new data; you can start with your existing information, which usually makes preparation easier after discussing strategies.
  • Of course, Leafer's design capabilities include producing content such as copywriting and visuals. If necessary, we can act as your support; just communicate your needs verbally and verify as needed.
